Welcome to my Professional Teaching and Online Portfolio!

Hello! My name is Alex Brigham and I am an artist, educator, collaborator, experienced life-long learner, and a human. My artistic journey is influenced by my family and ancestors of artists and entrepreneurs.  I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and a minor in Art History. Following my undergrad, I held a decade long career as a freelance film industry professional across various art departments. I came into art education in search of a career change. The decision to continue my education was to get in touch with my roots and remember my artistic passion. The media I worked with in my graduate program at the University of Northern Colorado was influenced by my film set experience. I seek to curate experiences using space, objects, and effects to change our perception on how space impacts our mood. My research into cultivating these environments has made me an empathetic educator, forced me to look at all the elements that can impact a classroom and students, both negatively, and positively. I use human-centered design techniques to promote productivity, creativity, collaboration, self-agency, and well-being in and out of the art room.
